16.67 mil trips made in Yunnan during Spring Festival
A total of 16.67 million trips were made in Yunnan province during the just concluded week-long Spring Festival holiday, bringing in a tourist income of 10.8 billion yuan, said local tourism authority on February 18.
According to Lvmama.com, a popular e-tourism website based in Shanghai, searches on Yunnan local tourist products increased by 80 percent, drive tours are most favored, and one-day trips make up 88 percent of all tours.
To invite in more tourists, scenic areas in Xishuangbanna offered free admissions to migrant workers, while Kunming attractions rolled out eco-tours and flower-admiring tourist routes. The Puzhehei scenic area made series of preferential policies for local tourists.
Other favored Yunnan scenic areas included the panda manor in Pu’er, the hot spring sites in Tengchong, the camping site in Yuanmou, the red coral diving center in Kunming and the skiing fields in Huize.
Cultural elements in Yunnan are further fused into tourism. In the old town of Lijiang, relics are integrated into tourist products and the Naxi ancient music was played online.
An Ansai drum dance was staged near the southern shore of the Dianchi Lake, together with a Luoyang peony show. Based on its tradition in blue and white porcelain, the Hongta district in Yuxi promoted the brands related to local kilns.
