Rainbow rice: taste from nature

In Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of southeast Yunnan, local Zhuang people dye glutinous rice with colored juice made from wild plants.

After being dyed, the glutinous rice with different colors is arrayed and steamed in the rice pot. The rainbow rice with the fragrance of plants tastes unique.

The colorful rice, which symbolizes good luck and harvest, is an essential delicacy of the local Zhuang people.
