Hi, Kunming: Auntie Qian’s home cooking

A lady surnamed Qian has run a restaurant near the former site of the coal-machinery factory in Kunming, Yunnan province since 1995. People call her Auntie Qian or Mother Qian. Her restaurant has won praise from countless Kunmingers.

From the open-air shed at the beginning to the 12 chain restaurants now, the only thing that remains unchanged is the authentic flavor of her homemade dishes.

Her restaurant features old Kunming’s home cooking and the dishes are favored by many for 26 years. While inheriting the traditional Kunming taste, she also blends in modern catering elements in the dishes.
