Flying in air, perching on branches and hunting for food, blue-tailed bee-eaters with colorful plumage have a ball in Qiaojia County, southwest China's Yunnan Province.

The blue-tailed bee-eater (Merops philippinus), which has a chestnut-colored throat, green wings and back, blue tail and orange feathers beneath the wings, is a near passerine bird in the bee-eater family Meropidae.

It eats dragonflies, butterflies, bees, beetles and flies as its main food. It's mainly found in China's Yunnan, Hainan, Guangdong, Fujian and other coastal places.
