The Phayre’s leaf monkey, a wild animal under A-level state protection in China, was seen in the dense forest of Mangshi City, southwest Yunnan’s Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture on August 16.
When they were born, their whole body is golden. When they are about 3 months old, they gradually turn into silver gray. They have a pair of round blue eyes. The body length is generally 55-71 cm, but tails are even longer at about 60-80 cm.
They feed on a variety of wild fruits and green leaves. Famous as a well-behaved species, the Phayre's leaf monkeys barely destroy crops.
