Herders begin grazing rotation in Sichuan

As it is getting colder, the herders in northwest Sichuan have recently begun their annual grazing rotation. Guiding their livestock, they left the summer pasture deep in the mountains for the fertile winter pastures close to the transport network.

Rotational grazing ensures the grassland a certain interval for recovery and overgrazing can be thus avoided. At the same time, the practice allows livestock to get enough food during the coming winter.
