Bulks of marigolds harvested in Mile

Farmers in southeast Yunnan’s Mile city are busy harvesting marigolds a total of 1,623 hectares, and marigolds  has formed a lucrative business for locals.

The marigolds have increased the income of local farmers and brought motivation to economic development of Mile. This year, the income of farmers in the mountainous areas is expected to increase by 36.52 million yuan.
 
In growing marigolds, local agro-companies helped the villagers a lot, offering seeds, pesticides, fertilizers and technical trainings. The firms also built a marigold processing plant nearby, where farmers can directly sell the followers.
