Infrared cameras capture boars in Mt. Gaoligong
The infrared cameras fixed by the Tengchong branch of the Gaoligong Mountain Nature Reserve recently captured the scene of three wild-boar cubs following their mother for food.
Data show the cameras captured clear images of the wild boar group 9 times From November 3, 2020 to March 29, 2021. At least 7 wild boars, including three cubs, were active in this area.
The Gaoligong Mountains are a sub-range of the southern Hengduan Mountain Range, located in the western Yunnan highlands and straddling the border of southwestern China and northern Myanmar.
Since the area serves as a window to observe the conservation of biodiversity, locals have protected the reserve with scientific measures in recent years.
Cameras at the Gaoligong reserve also captured the images crested deer, marbled cat, Himalayan goral, red panda, pheasant, and more.
