Poetic dance to be staged in Kunming

A poetic dance named "The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting" will be staged at the Kunming-based Yunnan Conference Center on March 18-19. The dance has made a hit via the 2022 CCTV Spring Festival Gala.

“A total of 3,000 online tickets for two performances of the dance were sold out in just 2 minutes Wednesday evening," said Duan Xiaoyan, staffer at the Kunming Theater Company. “We’ll stage more performances to cater for the zest of Kunmingers.”

The dance was inspired by the ancient Chinese painting "A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains" created by Wang Ximeng in the Song Dynasty (960-1279). It showed the charm of traditional Chinese art.
