Glowworms remind you of sweet childhood

How many sweet childhood memories can you be reminded of when coming across a sea of glowworms in a summer evening? How many times have you, in movies, caught sight of fireflies giving off flashes of light and forming a spectacular scene?

In Yunnan, where the degree of bio-diversity tops among all Chinese provinces, you can actually be greeted by the spectacular scene of glowworms at the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), which lies in the southernmost part of the province, near the China-Lao border.

The timing for glowworm admiring last from April to August, when droves of fireflies appear almost everywhere at a sunny night: in the woods, in the grass and over the lakes. They turned the botanical garden into a wonderland.
