13,000 tourists enjoy the Mopan Feast in Xinping

More than 13,000 tourists enjoyed the Mopan Feast in central Yunnan’s Xinping County on Mar. 9.

The Mopan Feast is an annual grand event held in Xinping, highlighted by a vast number of dishes and tables. Thousands of guests sitting around the table present a spectacular scene, and local Han, Yi and Dai people share their home-made cuisines in the feast.

The square was packed before the feast started, as Yi and Dai people in their beautiful ethnic costumes held welcome ceremonies to the guests.

The feast began after the dusk fell. Food was the highlight of the night.

Toasting songs, ethnic singing and dancing performances added joy as well.

In addition to glutting themselves with delicacies, tourists can also enjoy cherry blossoms in Mopan Mountain National Forest Park these days.
